A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual with specialist skills as an Engineering Training Instructor to work on MBDA's Complex Weapons domain missiles and missile systems products at an overseas location.
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.
Salary: £40K - £49K dependent on experience + benefits

The opportunity MBDA is a world leader in missile and weapon systems. As a result of business growth, MBDA is establishing a new support team in Poland in order to enable MBDA deliver our commitments over the coming decade. This exciting growth means the support team will be newly formed, drawing on experienced and newly recruited persons alike across UK and Poland. Although Polish speaking is not mandatory, as you will be predominantly deployed to Poland, Polish speaking UK Nationals and Dual UK-Polish nationals are encouraged to apply.
What we’re looking for from you:
- An Instructor to actively assist in the Training delivery of an MBDA Complex System Ground Based Air Defence (GBAD) product to an Export Customer to the highest quality, on time and on cost.
- You will be required to be initially deployed overseas working as part of an MBDA Training Team delivering In‑Country Operator and Maintainer Training to the Customer.
- You will be sensitive and appropriately responsive to the Customer’s local culture, behaviour and requirements.
- A working knowledge of the Ground Based Air Defence (GBAD) domain would be an advantage, as would the ability to assist in the delivery of field support engineering to the customer. However, training will be provided before deployment.
- Substantial experience in engineering or an engineering related subject is a requirement.
- Educated to degree Level in engineering or related subject is desirable but not essential.
- A Defence Instructor Qualification or civilian equivalent is desirable although not mandatory, coupled with experience of working within a Training Team environment.
- Experience in Training Needs Analysis (TNA) with the ability to interpret TNA studies, produce reports for our customers when tasked, assist in the production of Course Training Plans, Lesson Plans and Training Material to support delivery of theoretical and/or practical training to the Customer.
- A knowledge of engineering Training and processes within a Military structure is a bonus as you may be required to respond to technical queries from the Military Customer or provide support to design, trials or individual projects when necessary.
- Liaise with product suppliers in support of training technologies or equipment development whilst maintaining personal and technical reports, records etc. of all Training and Field Support activities, to a high standard.
- You may be required to be involved in Field Support Activities and be involved in a Contractor's Working Party, at a remote location within the deployed country, UK or overseas.
- You need to be able to work with a variety of different types of people and will maintain a willing, helpful attitude and a calm professional manner, even when things are changed at the last minute.
- Strong interpersonal skills for customer and industrial partners' interaction, a strong resilience and a good communicator.
The Role:
You will be deployed overseas for a minimum of 3 years as part of an MBDA Customer Support Training Team on a challenging export programme delivering Operator and Maintainer Training and Train The Trainer Courses on MBDA's GBAD Weapons product. Lead both theoretical and practical Product Training as well as Technical Field Support at the Customer’s location whilst assisting the Training Team in production of Project Timeline Plans, Course Training Plans, Training Material and Development Reports, on time and on cost. This exciting role may also require you to step outside of your comfort zone and assist in product training delivery on other systems. One of the most challenging and enjoyable aspects of MBDA CSS Product Training is the diverse and varying amount of products that we support.
