Bilateral Relations Manager in Bristol

MBDA is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic business development manager to support the coordination and development of UK-European strategic Complex Weapons bi-lateral frameworks.

Salary: Circa £65,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2 – 3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

This is a unique opportunity for the successful applicant to make a valued contribution to the field of European Defence Sovereignty, helping to foster international partnering on key strategic capabilities.

Reporting to the Group Head Bilateral Relations, this role will be principally focussed on the UK-FR Industrial Cooperation framework, with opportunities to expand responsibilities in other bi-lateral activities including, but not necessarily limited to UK-IT and UK-GE, and related programmes. Working as part of a dynamic, multi-national team, this role will be responsible for shaping and coordinating alignment within MBDA and the respective national government bodies.

You will be responsible for coordination of UK-FR Centres of Excellence activities, alignment and administration of MBDA UK and UK MOD inputs to the extant governance framework. MBDA Lead coordinator for the industrial framework under the established Anglo-French Centres of Excellence.

What we’re looking for from you:

• A motivated professional who is comfortable working autonomously and in team environments, skilled at stakeholder management and able to lead effective multi-disciplinary teams to achieve desired objectives
• Experience working within the defence enterprise, possessing an understanding of:
• • UK MOD organisation and processes, including front line command, MOD Main Building and DE&S
• • UK-FR Centres of Excellence
• • International cooperation programmes
• • Wider strategic and defence industry environment
• Proactive and flexible approach to international cooperation opportunities
