Salary: Circa £57,000 depending on experience
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 5 days per week on-site due to workload classification
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. After offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Security Clearance (SC) checks, which is managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:
Join our dynamic Aerodynamics team and work on cutting-edge defence programmes. As an Aerodynamics Engineer, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with experts in disciplines such as System Design, Propulsion, Mechanical Engineering, amongst others. Your work will span the entire project lifecycle, from concept development through to in-service and integration onto various platforms.
Working in this role will entail addressing a broad range of challenging applications, including free-flight aerodynamics, intake design, propulsion sub-system integration and integration of missiles onto various platforms (air, land, and sea). In performing these tasks, you will apply a suite of CFD tools and methods, alongside in-house performance analysis tools. Depending on the specifics of the project, you may also engage in wind tunnel testing and the assessment of flight trials.
Key responsibilities could include:
- Collaborate with or lead teams to develop innovative aerodynamic concepts.
- Coach and mentor colleagues, contributing to a supportive team culture.
- Support the development of in-house analysis tools.
- Collaborate with external organisations, including the Ministry of Defence, other aerospace companies, and academia.
What we're looking for from you:
- A degree in Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in aerodynamics, preferably within the defence or aerospace industry.
- Expertise in applying simulation tools or undertaking physical testing.
- Excellent collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to think critically and innovatively to solve complex aerodynamic challenges.
