An exciting opportunity for a Goods Inwards Inspector to join our Manufacturing Operations team. This is a fast-paced but friendly and inclusive Manufacturing environment that will challenge you.
Salary and working arrangements
- Salary: Circa £39,000 depending on experience
- Dynamic (hybrid) working: 5 days per week on-site due to workload classification
- Security Clearance: British National. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity
The role of the Goods Inwards Inspector is to ensure that goods received from suppliers meet the criteria of the purchase order and are compliant in all respects.
- Verify and accept procured product in line with contractual conditions.
- Practised in reading and understanding assembly drawings.
- Examining the finish of all parts to detect faulty finishing or painting, deterioration of surfaces etc.
- Undertaking first article inspections.
- Produce relevant inspection/quality control documentation.
- Check and complete all paperwork associated with the delivered article.
- Ensure inspection service level agreements are met in line with manufacturing demand.
- Control defect items via segregation from good product. Raise and maintain relevant defect reports.
- Maintain product verification approval process via regular audits.
- Inspection of PCB.
- Ensure compliance with all associated procedures applicable to the manufacturing process.
- Maintain to the highest level, workmanship standards and product quality.
- Contribute to the maintenance of an orderly and safe working environment.
What we're looking for from you
- Qualifications required (all of the below):
- Engineering / Manufacturing Apprenticeship (Advanced Level or L3 Standard)
- Engineering / Manufacturing Level 3 academic qualification (ONC, diploma, etc.)
- Engineering / Manufacturing Level 3 vocational qualification (NVQ - not required if you have achieved a L3 apprenticeship standard)
The successful candidate should be a team player who is able to demonstrate customer focus. They should be adaptable to any work-related processes and working practices. SAP literate is desirable.
