We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electronic Design Engineer to join our team and play a leading role in the support of production activities at our state of the art manufacturing facilities.

Salary: Circa £42,000-£48,000 depending on experience

Location: Bolton

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 3-4 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity: You will act as part of the design team as one of the main interfaces to our manufacturing teams while working alongside other support engineers to provide knowledge and support. The role offers the candidate a true engineering challenge in their core discipline(s), whilst providing scope for personal growth and development in other areas of electronics. Working within design support is a highly rewarding role as you not only see designs coming to life in the manufacturing environment but you can help to shape the design of these products to deliver support to our customers.

What we're looking for from you: You'll need to demonstrate a number of the following attributes:

  • Ideally degree qualified (or equivalent industry experience) with experience of designing product/systems and/or providing support to designs through the manufacturing phase of the product lifecycle.
  • Proven experience in the design of the following disciplines: Analogue and Digital Electronics
  • Investigative skills to be able to find Root Causes of design related issues and propose robust corrective actions.
  • Someone who will be prepared to work autonomously if needed, lead the delivery of your work assignments, and actively engage with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of your outputs.
  • Excellent verbal communication, negotiation and influencing skills with the capability to write clear and concise engineering documentation.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment and supporting and resolving manufacturing issues and a view to implement Design for Manufacture improvements into the design.
