Some exciting opportunities have developed in MBDA for the Radio Frequencies (RF) Technologies team and several vacancies are available in the Sparkworks department for scientists or engineers to work in Bristol on the technology aspects of RF Directed Energy systems!
Salary: Up to £58,000 depending on experience
Dynamic (hybrid) working: typically 4-5 days per week on-site due to nature of work and workload classification
Security Clearance: British Citizen holding a DV (Developed Vetting) security clearance, or be willing to undertake the DV process. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply.

The opportunity:
As part of the RF Technology team, you will work across a range of theoretical studies, design tasks and practical experiments to develop world-leading, cutting edge RF Directed Energy technologies and systems. Due to the nature of the systems which are developed and tested, work can be very hands on and demonstrable practical skills or experience is highly desirable.
You will be involved in the whole lifecycle, from initial concept and bid to customer delivery of a multitude of differing projects. These typically run from anywhere between six months and four years, giving you access to varied and interesting work.
This is a great opportunity to lead or contribute to the development of RF Directed Energy technologies and systems. Any experience of Pulsed Power RF or microwave engineering (including electromagnetic modelling, circuit analysis, and experimental assessments) is desirable.
What we're looking for from you:
- A graduate or experienced engineer with a strong engineering or science background in a related discipline.
- Ability to work in a flexible manner to deal with fluid programme milestones and timescales.
- Able to plan, execute and report on practical laboratory investigations
- Able to operate computer simulation codes effectively (e.g. CST, COMSOL, Matlab)
- Experience of high voltage pulsed power systems (Desirable)
- Desire to work in a delivery focused, multi-disciplined team
