Role Overview
Fantastic opportunity to take ownership of manufacturing engineering processes and equipment to make improvements to production while developing new skills and techniques.
The role is a Support Engineer responsible for translating design requirements into user instructions, developing project manufacturing architecture, and coordinating day‑to‑day support for operations staff within the manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities
- Support existing manufacturing lines and new product introductions.
- Support the industrial validation process using tools such as FMEA, process proving activities, and related instrumentation.
- Manage configuration control by embedding design modifications into manufacturing documentation and industrial validation.
- Participate in the non‑conformance process and ensure products are produced safely, efficiently, and economically.
- Assume responsibility for safe operating implementation of changed processes, including liaising with COSHH assessors, SHE, and human factors teams.
- Collaborate with the design authority during product prototype and development phases to optimise Design for Manufacture (Df M).
- Compile and update manufacturing instructions while maintaining production BOMs.
- Develop and control tooling requirements.
Qualifications
- Formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level3 and a further education certificate to HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject OR a degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Proactive problem‑solving approach and commitment to meeting delivery milestones.
- Ability to interpret design drawings and produce manufacturing build instructions.
- Strong teamwork skills and willingness to contribute to a collaborative environment.
- Familiarity with digital communication platforms for effective workplace communication.
