Bolton

Salary: Circa £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2/3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. All successful candidates will need to undergo BPSS checks, managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

As an IT Buyer looking for a Lead Buyer role, an international role in the UK and Europe, or an indirect buyer with an interest in technology, you will have the chance to expand your knowledge and skills while working flexibly and dynamically in a professional challenge. Responsibilities include leading all aspects of IT spend across the Group: Enterprise Software, Engineering Software, Manufacturing Software, SaaS, Services, Cyber, Networks, Hardware, Security, AI, High Performance Computing, etc. Opportunity to specialise in one area, develop into new ones, and broaden knowledge over time.

What we’re looking for from you:

  • Either an established IT procurement practitioner or a buyer willing to learn and develop these skills with good procurement knowledge in other Indirect categories.
  • Comfortable working in an international context.
  • Builds internal and international relationships.
  • Able to own and run large procurement projects to support Category Managers.
  • Soft communication skills.
  • A buyer looking for the next stage in their IT career or an established Indirect Buyer looking to move into their first role in IT Procurement.
  • Travel and international working is part of the role: regular quarterly team meetings rotate between our sites in the UK, Germany, Italy or Paris; specific projects may require stakeholder or supplier meetings in these countries.
  • Ideally you are working towards or willing to pursue an MCIPS qualification. We offer routes towards MCIPS qualification.
