MBDA is looking to secure the services of a Naval Based Air Defence Systems Proving Engineer. The role offers a salary up to £45,000 depending on experience and a hybrid working pattern of 4‑5 days a week onsite.

Applicants must be a British citizen or a dual UK national with British citizenship. All successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS) after offer stage.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the systems engineering and design teams to plan, generate, and execute trials.
  • Liaise with the systems engineering and design teams to ensure adequate trials data is acquired and investigate and resolve design issues.
  • Generate trials documentation; prepare, deliver, and follow up on internal and external Trials Readiness Reviews.
  • Conduct post‑trials data analysis and reporting.
  • Conduct and/or support trials including laboratory‑based functional integration trials, system trials, ground‑based trials, harbour trials, sea trials, firing trials, trials in foreign countries.
  • Assist with Lab Management responsibilities (e.g., maintain risk assessments, asset management, host audits, maintain lab safety, etc.).
  • Maintain hardware and software configuration control.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in System Integration, Design Proving and Trials, Naval Integration, Missile Test Interface Design, System assessment and acceptance, Design Verification, Electrical/Mechanical construction and interfacing, Electronic design/test, Network integration.
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of internal customers, sub‑contractors, partners, and suppliers at engineering and management levels.
  • Beneficial: experience with MBSE tools such as DOORS, Rhapsody, RTC.
  • Beneficial: experience with coding, especially Python.
