Salary: Circa £65,000 depending on experience

Location: Bristol

Working Pattern: Dynamic (hybrid) – 3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Opportunity

As the System of Systems Integration Lead your primary objective is to lead and co‑ordinate a multi‑disciplinary engineering team in engagement with the customer and industry partners, supporting the integration (physical / functional) of an MBDA land product into a wider Ground Based Air Defence Weapon System context.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with the customer to define System of Systems Requirements, including evolution paths for future development
  • Serving as the main technical point of contact to the customer and industry partners for all System of Systems activities and technical queries
  • Leading regular technical working groups with the customer, coordinating with engineering teams on required inputs
  • Co‑ordinating and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team on technical issues, queries and conflict resolution, and coordinating responses to and from the customer and industrial partners
  • Regular travel overseas (approximately twice a month for 3–4 days, up to three times during busy periods) to support engagement with the customer and industry partners

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in developing and integrating complex systems, preferably in the defense industry
  • Strong systems thinking skills with the ability to initiate and drive trade studies
  • Excellent communication skills to convey technical information to a variety of stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Experience developing requirement sets and ability to agree these collaboratively with different stakeholder groups, including System Design Authorities and Government organisations
  • Project engineering knowledge to design and deliver work packages
