Salary: Circa £57,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of up to six high‑performing mechanical engineers
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals
- Manage project timelines, priorities and resource allocation to meet deadlines and quality standards
- Develop processes with stakeholders to drive best practice
- Identify and remove blockers to foster team collaboration
- Provide regular feedback, career development support and team engagement activities
Qualifications:
- Degree/HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Significant experience in mechanical design and development, or manufacturing support (wider experience preferred)
- Preferably experience in defence or aerospace industry (not essential)
- High level of competence in industry‑standard 3D CAD packages such as PTC CREO
- Proficiency in interpreting detailed drawings to BS8888 and applying GD&T controls
- Ability to write clear and concise engineering documentation (reports, investigation logs)
- Strong verbal communication, negotiation and influencing skills
- Experience in tolerance studies and analysis to ensure compliance with prime product standards
- Experience with development techniques such as FMEA, DFA and DFM
- Experience supporting manufacturing, resolving manufacturing issues and driving product transition into production
- Skills in scoping tasks needed to resolve issues and managing conflicting priorities for yourself and the team
- Previous technical leadership or team‑lead role is advantageous
