We’re looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Manufacturing New Business Bid Team. Supporting both the Design (New Concept) & Manufacture (Series Production) phases of bidding across MBDA’s full range of programmes and projects.
Salary: Circa £45,000 depending on experience. Dynamic (hybrid) working: 1-2 days per week on-site due to workload classification.
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.
Responsibilities
- Interpret bid directives and cost modelling.
- Utilise multiple data sources and create 3-point estimations.
- Perform advanced data analytics to inform bid content, applying robust methodologies with strong commercial acumen and focus on Risk and AED’s.
- Generate an auditable manufacturing cost base for bids in D&M Phase or similar.
- Prepare and present bids to the Senior Management Team (SMT) for approval.
- Work closely with Manufacturing Programmes team to produce compliant complex bids on Major Programmes.
- Continuously improve bid generation processes and introduce new methodologies.
Qualifications
- Experience working on complex bids with a proven record of accomplishment in the creation of auditable cost models, proposals and bids.
- Commercially astute with experience in generating costings for direct/in direct, materials and other costs associated with manufacturing products.
- Experience in the defence industry, especially in Concept/Development through to Manufacturing phases, is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team with a proactive approach.
- Articulate costing approaches and ensure evidence is collated for audit purposes.
