The opportunity
You will join a department with a team of highly skilled Weapon System Architects working across MBDA UK's current and future weapon systems. The department focuses on growth and developing a team of high-performing experienced System Architects, comfortable working in the problem space. You will be a member of the STRATUS LO project team, reporting to and working closely with the STRATUS LO Weapon System Architecture Lead. You will work on a multinational (UK, France and Italy) next generation cruise-missile weapon system development project for MBDA. The project features challenging technical scope and delivery timescales, with agile thinking and lifecycle engineering, architecting and model-based systems engineering approaches in place to meet those challenges. This is an opportunity to contribute to MBDA's values and develop into a skilled MBDA Weapon System Architect.
What we're looking for:
- A Systems Engineer/Architect with an understanding of complex systems (ideally Weapon/Missile Systems), their sub-systems, platforms, and their systems architecture.
- Practical experience modelling systems using model-based methods, processes and tools with understanding of the system development lifecycle.
- Ability and cultural awareness to work with multi-disciplinary, multinational teams supporting technology and design collaboration and communication.
- Self-belief, confidence and conviction to identify and pursue ideas and opportunities, while being supportive and team-oriented.
- Ability to clearly present and walk through concepts and technical content to a variety of internal and external, technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Here's what’s in it for you:
- Learning and understanding of STRATUS LO Weapon System capabilities from the developing architecture implemented as a federated set of architecture models.
- Become a key contributor to the further development and maturation of the architecture to support design and integration of STRATUS LO onto various launch platforms (Air and Naval) and deployment locations.
- Become a practitioner of MBDA's Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) toolset, integrating requirements, architecture, design, implementation and proving.
- Develop a holistic understanding of the constituent Sub-Systems that make up a Weapon System and the information flow through the system.
