BristolAs a Missile Architect within the newly formed Future Products team you will be working to shape the next generation of MBDA products.
SalaryCirca £65,000 depending on experience.
Dynamic (hybrid) working3 days per week on-site due to workload classification.
Security ClearanceBritish Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunityWithin Future Products, your role will be to help realise the system design intent into a feasible and credible product concept that balances the requirements placed upon it. This will include:
Define overall product structure, interfaces and architecture
Facilitate architectural trade studies
Support deployment of generic policies i.e. GMA, modularity & re-use, design for assembly
Assess technology application and maturity using design assessment tools
Support product technical and programme phase reviews
You\’ll get to work with and have wide exposure to a wide range of stakeholders, e.g. S&BD, Future Systems, MOD, DSTL, key industrial partners. Alongside working on new technology to develop brand new capabilities and designs, making this role an exciting prospect.
You\’ll have the opportunity to shape and grow in line with your personal development, with an opportunity to lead a small and multidiscipline team. It\’s an interesting role that will provide you with a deep understanding of early phase Missile and weapon system design.
What we\’re looking for from you:
Ideally educated to degree level, or equivalent experience
Comfortable working in a collaborative environment
The confidence to embrace the uncertain nature of early concept development
Desire to utilise new techniques and methods to develop concepts and system trade studies
Ability to manage a broad range of activities and experience of planning and task management
A solid understanding of missiles, subsystems and platforms
Relevant Systems Engineering knowledge
Ideally experienced in mechanical and/or electronic design (but broader engineering fields relevant, e.g. Aero, Control, Structures, System Design, Software etc.)
