Overview
Bolton – Fantastic opportunity to join our growing Customs team in a role that offers both challenges and the opportunity to make a difference.
Salary: Circa £39,000 depending on experience
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site due to workload classification
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship
Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Customs officer based in Bolton or Stevenage to assist with the day-to-day Customs operations, assisting with the running of the IPR, OPR, Temporary admission and Customs Warehousing controls along with all other imports into the business across the UK.
This is a critical role to ensure MBDA\’s compliance with HMRC. This is ideal for someone who enjoys a challenge. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for attention to detail which is paramount in this role. They will also thrive on assisting with continuous improvement for the whole department.
What we are looking for from you
- Experience in technical and practical aspects of Import and Export Customs procedures.
- Knowledge of customs special procedures, Inward Processing (IP), Outward Processing (OP), Customs warehousing (CW) and Temporary Admission (TA).
- A detailed knowledge of all fields on a CDS import and export declaration.
- Ability to develop working across multifunctional departments within MBDA UK.
- Capability to produce professional and concise documentation
- A working knowledge and understanding of Tariff codes and Customs Procedure Code\’s.
- A working knowledge of the rules of origin.
