Bristol
Salary: Up to £75,000 depending on experience
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site due to workload classification
Security Clearance: This role will require DV Clearance. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:
We are seeking a forward thinking HPC Architect with expertise in storage and infrastructure to define the long-term future roadmap of HPC environments within MBDA. You will ensure alignment with business objectives in collaboration with our business areas. As a HPC Architect you will be responsible for building scalable and high-throughput infrastructure. You will manage and maintain HPC environments including compute nodes, storage and interconnects. The role involves close collaboration within your team and wider stakeholders across the organisation. You will also engage with wider multi-national and multi-cultured teams to drive capability development cross functionally. What we're looking for from you:
- Advanced Linux knowledge (authentication, DNS, DHCP, File system management)
- Advanced Knowledge of HPC system architecture (compute, storage, scheduling and monitoring)
- Ability to define long term HPC strategies and roadmaps
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking capabilities within a complex technical environment
- Strong ability to evaluate vendor solutions and emerging technologies to fit with business needs whilst providing good economic value.
- Good familiarity with security and compliance within HPC environments
- Good stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to translate business needs into technical outcomes
- Knowledge of performance benchmarking, optimisation and profiling tools
- Knowledge of IT service management and governance frameworks such as ITIL to follow incident, change and request processes.
- Awareness of ESG and sustainability within data centre and PC design.
