An exciting opportunity for a Goods Inwards Inspector to join our Manufacturing Operations team. This is a fast-paced but friendly and inclusive manufacturing environment that will challenge you.
Salary: Circa £39,000 depending on experience
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 5 days per week on-site due to workload classification
Security Clearance: British National. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.
The opportunity:
- The role of the Goods Inwards Inspector is to ensure that goods received from suppliers meet the criteria of the purchase order and are compliant in all respects.
- Verify and accept procured product in line with contractual conditions.
- Practiced in reading and understanding assembly drawings.
- Examining the finish of all parts to detect faulty finishing or painting, deterioration of surfaces etc.
- Undertaking first article inspections.
- Produce relevant inspection/quality control documentation.
- Check and complete all paperwork associated with the delivered article.
- Ensure inspection service level agreements are met in line with manufacturing demand.
- Control defect items via segregation from good product. Raise and maintain relevant defect reports.
- Maintain product verification approval process via regular audits.
- Inspection of PCB.
- Ensure compliance with all associated procedures applicable to the manufacturing process.
- Maintain to the highest level, workmanship standards and product quality.
- Contribute to the maintenance of an orderly and safe working environment.
What we're looking for from you:
- Qualifications required (all of the below):
- Engineering / Manufacturing Apprenticeship (Advanced Level or L3 Standard).
- Engineering / Manufacturing Level 3 academic qualification (ONC, diploma, etc.).
- Engineering / Manufacturing Level 3 vocational qualification (NVQ - not required if you have achieved a L3 apprenticeship standard).
The successful candidate should be a team player who is able to demonstrate customer focus. They should be adaptable to any work-related processes and working practices. SAP literate is desirable.
