Engineer working on the mechanical design of Warheads. This role encompasses all facets of the product life cycle, from conceptualisation and detailed designs to qualification, production, and in‑service support across a diverse portfolio of Warhead types and applications. The position is part of a dedicated, multidisciplinary team tackling challenging engineering issues across the product life cycle. Aiming to broaden expertise in modelling, simulation, novel materials and emerging manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage mechanical design work packages, assuming responsibility for Design, Development, and Proving activities throughout the product life cycle.
- Provide detailed design, qualification and production support for Warheads.
- Coordinate with suppliers, customers and partner teams to negotiate and influence design decisions.
- Ensure compliance with qualification and homologation activities.
- Communicate design progress and issues effectively in both written and verbal formats.
Qualifications
- A Degree/HND/HNC coupled with post‑qualification experience and training in mechanical design.
- Proficiency in managing mechanical design work packages.
- Familiarity with proving and qualification/homologation activities.
- Relevant 3D CAD/CAE experience (training on our CAE tools will be provided).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity and adaptability.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: Circa £55,000 depending on experience.
- Company bonus: Up to £2,500 (based on company performance).
- Pension: maximum total contribution up to 14%.

Working Arrangements

- Security Clearance: British Citizen or a dual UK national with British citizenship. All successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).
