Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for the setup and operation of the Load Control System and Tensile Test Machines.
- Calibrate, set up and install a variety of transducers, including Linear Variable Displacement Transducers, Load Cells and Strain Gauges.
- Be familiar with Data Acquisition Systems and set up appropriately for test work.
- Be involved in helping the customer to define test requirements within the scope of the Lab capabilities.
- Produce estimated costings to the Customer, working to adhere to delivering OTOCOQ.
- Design, procure and manufacture suitable fixturing to interface with test hardware.
- Write detailed test reports for both internal and external customers.
- Set up and operate Load Control and Data Acquisition Systems, and design, set up and run complex static and fatigue tests.
Qualifications:
- HND/HNC in a STEM field, or vocational equivalent.
- Strong technical background in Instrumentation and Load Control Systems.
- Experience with hydraulic and electric actuators.
- Ability to develop and manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Desirable skills: Experience with installation of strain gauges on test hardware; Familiarity with calibration processes; Previous Crane/FLT experience, with training provided; AGILE/LEAN Six Sigma Practitioner; Basic coding experience.
