Due to growth and business need, an opportunity has arisen for a GD&T & Tolerance Analysis engineer to join Europe's number one missile system provider, developing solutions for complex weapons and weapon systems.
We have an exciting opportunity for a GD&T & Tolerance Analyst to join the mechanical engineering team here at MBDA. You'll be a key member of a team responsible for helping to define the long-term strategy for GD&T and tolerance analysis within the mechanical design function. Day to day, you will support, upskill and train engineers across multiple projects within GD&T concepts & tolerance analysis. You will be a key stakeholder in creating & implementing new internal knowledge standards & training documents to drive these improvements into the design process. The role requires a motivated, enthusiastic and driven individual to take up a pivotal role within the long-term delivery of designs against our customers' high-quality standards. You will work with highly skilled and experienced design engineers during all stages of development across a dynamic multi-project landscape.
What we're looking for from you:
- Ideally HND/HNC/Degree qualified
- Experience in high precision engineering/manufacturing/quality environment
- Knowledge of geometrical variation analysis and/or functional application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing principles (GD&T)
- An agile, adaptable and motivated mindset towards problem solving and task management with a positive, proactive and open approach towards people
- Knowledge of 1D/2D calculations & 3D model-based tolerance analysis (Exposure to analysis software such as CETOL 6σ would be an advantage)
- Fundamental knowledge of applicable standards & processes, including BS8888 & ISO GPS
- Analytical approach with proven track record in report writing and presenting
- Proficient with 3D CAD Software (e.g. Creo Parametric)
- Knowledge of SPC and data analysis
