Overview

We are looking for an ambitious engineer with a growth‑mind‑set to join our unique team.

The HWIL Simulation Systems Engineer will be responsible for maintaining the simulations by ensuring simulators and control systems are fit for purpose.

The role involves reactive and proactive engineering support for hydraulic motion simulators and antenna positioning systems, and requires flexibility to meet planned and corrective maintenance needs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the HWIL simulations and ensure all simulators and control systems are fit for purpose.
  • Provide reactive and proactive engineering support for multiple‑axis hydraulic motion simulators and antenna positioning systems.
  • Perform planned maintenance activities and corrective maintenance in response to unforeseen issues.
  • Adapt to new engineering situations and abstract detail to understand facility simulation systems and equipment.

Qualifications

  • Broad engineering experience with depth in the following skill areas: hydraulic systems, computer‑aided design (CREO an advantage), interpretation of mechanical and electrical drawings, workshop skills (hand and electrical tools), psychomotor skills and dexterity, ability to work at height, IT literacy, use of management information systems (MIS), and control system theory.
  • Ideally holds a Bachelor’s Degree (2:1) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics & Robotics, Aeronautical or Electronic Engineering.
  • Must be a British citizen or dual UK national with British citizenship and be eligible to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).
  • Salary & Benefits

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 4 days per week on‑site due to workload classification.

Company bonus: up to £2,500 (based on company performance).

Pension: maximum total contribution of up to 14%.

Overtime: opportunity for paid overtime.
