Sea Ceptor is evolving both domestically and globally. As the Sea Ceptor Obsolescence Manager, you will lead cross‑functional efforts to resolve obsolescence issues, develop solutions, and maintain knowledge management across all Sea Ceptor platforms. Reporting to the Head of Follow‑On Ships, you will shape strategy, deliver solutions, and capture lessons learned.
Responsibilities
- Provide detailed analysis and impact assessment for identified obsolescence issues.
- Develop technical options and recommendations to resolve obsolescence.
- Present technical information to internal and external stakeholders.
- Support bidding activities related to obsolescence.
- Help develop high‑level strategies for managing obsolescence across all Sea Ceptor platforms (equipment in production, equipment in‑service, and future contracts).
- Understand requirements and secure resources to deliver obsolescence solutions.
- Oversee cross‑functional teams to achieve solutions within required timelines.
- Work closely with electronic and mechanical design functions, software teams, test equipment design teams, in‑service support teams and Bolton manufacturing to ensure time‑ and budget‑aligned solutions.
- Liaise with Land Ceptor & SV CAMM projects to align obsolescence strategy across the business.
- Collaborate with Export and Engineering teams to feed the export business case and the Mid‑life uplift programme for Sea Ceptor.
- Work with project management to keep delivery plans current.
- Maintain the project’s Knowledge Management process and integrate it with wider company initiatives.
- Coordinate all Sea Ceptor Lessons‑Learned sessions.
- Review and update the Project Knowledge Management Plan.
- Contribute to annual company KM review sessions.
Qualifications
- HNC level qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject, or equivalent experience.
- Strong appreciation of electronic design to assess and trade‑off technical solutions.
- Experience presenting technical information to a broad range of stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Understanding of product lifecycle and experience with production test readiness activities.
- Experience generating and managing P6 project plans.
- Experience with Knowledge Management processes and practices.
