We have an opportunity within MBDA UK's Cyber Security function for an OT Cyber Security Engineer supporting the secure integration of OT control network and wider Operational Technology environments into central cyber monitoring and governance. This role is focused on OT Asset visibility, technical integration, and safe data onboarding, ensuring MBDA maintains an authoritative, accurate understanding of its operational technology estate while protecting availability and safety. The OT Cyber Security Engineer will act as a hands-on technical contributor, working under the OT Cyber Security Lead, and collaborating closely with Networks, SOC Engineering, IT Infrastructure, Facilities Management, and Manufacturing Teams.
Responsibilities
- OT Asset Visibility & Inventory: Create, maintain and continuously improve an authoritative OT asset inventory covering PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, historians, and associated infrastructure. Identify asset ownership, criticality, and operational constraints. Ensure asset records support incident response, risk management, and audit requirements.
- OT Control Network Integration & Data Onboarding: Support the onboarding of OT control network environments into enterprise cyber monitoring. Liaise with Network Engineering and SOC Engineering teams to identify appropriate data sources and telemetry points. Validate that data collection is non-intrusive and production-safe.

- Operational Support: Provide OT asset context during cyber incidents and investigations. Support security assurance, testing and readiness activities as directed by the OT Cyber Security Lead.
Qualifications
- Operational Technology / ICS knowledge: Must be able to identify PLCs, HMIs, SCADA and historians, explain their function in the process and articulate operational and safety constraints when discussing security controls.
- OT Networking & Segmentation: Must be able to read and interpret OT network diagrams, understand segmentation and data flows, and explain where monitoring can be safely placed without impacting availability (e.g. boundaries).
- Cyber Security Fundamentals in OT Contexts: Must be able to apply cyber controls proportionately in OT environments, explaining trade-offs between confidentiality, integrity, availability and safety and challenge IT-centric controls.
- Incident Response Support (OT): Must be able to provide rapid, accurate OT context during incidents, explain "do-not-touch" systems, and support triage decisions without acting as incident commander.
- Asset Management & Visibility: Must be able to build and maintain authoritative OT asset register, validate asset accuracy with service owners and keep records current following change or investigation activity.
