We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure & Resilience Manager to be responsible for our critical UK infrastructure and data centre environments. The successful candidate will oversee operational functions across all data centre environments, coordinate facilities service providers, drive capacity planning, lead business continuity and disaster recovery activities, and manage the UK Data Centre Operations Manager.
Responsibilities
- Ensure stability, resilience, security and long‑term operational capability of critical infrastructure and data centre environments.
- Lead operational teams through incidents, participate in call‑out rota for crisis management and create continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate facilities service providers and manage vendor and supplier relationships.
- Plan and execute disaster recovery testing, failover exercises and operational recovery activities.
- Apply robust operational governance, change control and risk management practices.
- Plan infrastructure and environment capacity, perform operational forecasting.
- Interpret performance of electrical and mechanical systems, including power, cooling, BMS and redundancy models.
- Develop management information, operational & maintenance procedures, runbooks, policies and standards for data centres.
- Ensure compliance with internal security and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of data centre, hosting and critical infrastructure components (server, storage, network, cloud).
- Strong knowledge of disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BC) planning.
- Experience leading DR testing, failover exercises and operational recovery.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure & environment capacity planning and forecasting.
- Knowledge of power infrastructure (distribution, UPS, generators), cooling, BMS, redundancy models.
- Effective communication, organisational and leadership skills.
- Experience managing vendor and supplier relationships.
- Proactive incident, problem and change management in data centres.
- Compliance with internal security and safety protocols.
Desirable
- ITIL certification or equivalent operational framework experience.
- Experience within highly secure and regulated environments.
- Familiarity with ISO27001, ISO 22301, MOD DCC & SbD.
- Certified Data Centre Professional (CDCP) or Certified Data Centre Management Professional (CDCM).
- Experience with DCIM and infrastructure monitoring tools.
- Experience in managing multi‑site, national data centre environments.
