Reporting to the Head of Employee Relations (ER) UK, this role focuses on Industrial Relations and Case Management. You will join a team of ER specialists and work with the ER Manager responsible for Policy, Procedures and Terms and Conditions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead a progressive and proactive industrial relations strategy, nurturing partnerships with recognised Trade Unions and Employee Forums.
- Oversee case management within MBDA; manage ER Advisors and lead the team to develop a data-driven approach to identify trends and learning, enhancing people manager capability.
- Provide HR support to formal ER cases, including complex and sensitive matters.
- Provide specialist advice and guidance to managers and HR colleagues, ensuring legally and ethically sound decisions and resolutions.
- Collaborate with the ER leadership to develop the UK ER Vision and strategy, promoting a positive and progressive Employee Relations climate and mitigating business risk.
- Develop with the ER Manager a programme to enhance the skills of People Managers and the wider HR community on ER topics, mitigating risk and improving engagement.
- Consult effectively with key stakeholders, including senior leadership and Trade Union representatives, to ensure outputs are fit for purpose and achieve key aims.
- Propose and recommend logical, well-balanced solutions to complex ER problems that are legally compliant and aligned to HR strategy and business needs.
- Coach, advise and influence HR colleagues and people managers to ensure compliance with legislation and MBDA policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Industrial relations and case management experience at a senior level; preferably with experience in highly regulated sectors such as Defence, Security and Financial Services (not essential).
- Commercial, pragmatic, solution-focused with the ability to operate autonomously while collaborating within a team.
- Up-to-date employment law knowledge with ability to apply in a business context.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: Circa £75,000 depending on experience and level.
- Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site.
- Security Clearance: After offer, BPSS checks are required.
- Competitive Company Incentive Scheme.
- Pension: up to 14% total contribution (4% employee, 6% employer; up to 2% increase possible).
