Be a part of our Industrial Policy, Supply Chain and Procurement (ISP) team! We\βre responsible for procuring and managing the supply chain for direct and indirect products and services for both projects and the business, with a total spend of approximately β¬500M per year across UK, France, and Italy.
As the Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for leading procurement activities and supporting the Lead Buyer where applicable. You will work alongside the Category Manager, Supply Chain Manager, and Supplier Planner to ensure operational activities align with procurement excellence. Reporting to the Procurement Team Lead, you will maintain strong relationships with multi-function teams and suppliers to optimize supply for development and production activities.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Forecasting: Utilize MRP/SAP data to identify and communicate planned demand, make sourcing decisions on long-term needs, and determine the most economical options.
- Sourcing & Contracting: Support or own source-to-pay activities and supply contracts, ensuring compliance with English law and procurement best practices.
- Risk and Issue Management: Identify and manage supplier risks and issues, communicating with stakeholders and projects as needed.
- Continuous Improvement: Support initiatives aimed at improving procurement processes and supplier performance.
- Cost Governance: Maintain a savings register, track cost savings, and ensure proper governance of cost increases.
- System Data Management: Ensure accuracy and topicality of system data, including Material Master, Purchase Info Records, contracts, and purchase orders.
Ideal candidates will have excellent operational procurement knowledge, strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Experience in procurement or supply chain management, contracting, and financial understanding is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools is required, and a CIPS Level 4 qualification or equivalent is desirable.
Security clearance: British Citizen or dual UK national with British citizenship. All successful candidates will undergo HMG BPSS checks.
