Overview
This position will be responsible for providing the Manufacturing Engineering focus within the Industrial Transfer Team representing the department at various forums to engage with key stakeholders and promote the department. An exciting new opportunity has become available within the Industrial Transfer Team for a Principal Manufacturing Engineer to join the team. The opportunity also allows an individual to grow their knowledge within manufacturing as part of development into potential future opportunities. This role will give an individual into the front end aspects of the business from initial bids through to delivery and also be both internally and externally focussed. The tasks will be both tactical and strategic providing stretched objectives for personal growth and appreciation of the wider business.
Responsibilities
- Extensive knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering
- Support to the bid generation for Manufacturing Industrial Transfer campaigns.
- Work alongside the Industrial Transfer PM to generate robust bids for Manufacturing
- Identify supporting function requirements to ensure a successful Industrial Transfer programme
- Delivery of Industrial Manufacturing Transfer Programmes in line with business and customer expectations
- Interface between external stakeholders and the Manufacturing organisation to ensure a smooth and efficient transfer programme
- Define the Manufacturing Industrial Transfer operating principles and procedures
- Able to write reports and technical assessments of current and future proposals
Qualifications
- Formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 AND Formal further education certificate to HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject OR a BEng in a relevant Engineering Degree
- Able to work with minimum supervision
- Be highly motivated and enthusiastic, to create/maintain a high performing team

Security Clearance: Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.
What we can offer you:
- Salary: Circa £47,000 depending on experience
- Dynamic (hybrid) working: 4-5 days per week on-site due to workload classification
- Company bonus: Up to £2,500 (based on company performance and will vary year to year)
- Pension: maximum total (employer and employee) contribution of up to 14%
- Overtime: opportunity for paid overtime
- Flexi Leave: Up to 15 additional days
- Flexible working: We welcome applicants who are looking for flexible working arrangements
- Enhanced parental leave: up to 26 weeks for maternity, adoption and shared parental leave

Dynamic Working: We offer flexible working arrangements where possible, with options for remote working where role requirements allow, and up to 15 days of Flexi-leave per annum in addition to 25 days annual leave and bank holidays.
MBDA Security Clearance: All employees are required to hold UK Security or BPSS Clearance.
