Overview

We are recruiting an EW Systems Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring that various aspects of a Weapon System\’s EW capability (covering system design, integration, and the operational context / applicability) is fit for purpose, whilst also ensuring that the associated design is developed within the required timescales and budget. This Systems Engineer will be both the EW requirements authority and the EW System design lead for elements of a Weapon System, requiring collaboration with suppliers, customers, and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and/or contribute to the design and verification of EW capabilities for weapon systems, including system design, integration, and assessment of operational context / applicability.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, customers and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery within budget.
  • Apply systems engineering methods, toolsets and processes across the full engineering development lifecycle and systems integration activities.
  • Contribute to capability assessments and road-mapping for EW capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enable effective delivery.

Qualifications

  • A strong understanding of systems engineering methods, toolsets, and processes.
  • Experience in Weapon System design and validation is preferred; experience with complex system product development is essential.
  • Experience across the full engineering development lifecycle and in systems integration.
  • Understanding of Electromagnetic Countermeasures and Electromagnetic Support / Surveillance systems.
  • Proven track record of delivery and capability assessments / road-mapping.
  • Experience with requirements management toolsets (e.g. DOORS).
  • Candidates must hold, or be willing to apply for, DV clearance.

Security and Eligibility

MBDA requires all employees to achieve the required medical and national security clearance for their role. Due to the nature of our business, the applicant must be a British Citizen, or a Dual UK national with British citizenship, and capable of achieving a DV clearance level (managed by MBDA Personnel Security Team).

  • Salary: Up to £55,000, depending on experience
  • Dynamic (hybrid) working pattern with on-site requirements as described; minimum 3 days per week on-site typical for this role
  • Company bonus: Up to £2,500 (based on company performance)
