Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the physical transformation of our Henlow and Stevenage Manufacturing facilities. With our orderbook continuing to grow it is essential that MBDA is ready for the challenges of the future. This role plays a pivotal role preparing MBDA for a significant ramp up in manufacturing capacity and the implementation of new technology and ways of working.
Responsibilities
- Deliver strategically significant investment projects against the RIBA standard within the Manufacturing function.
- Provide leadership and guidance to other manufacturing project management professionals, investing in people to develop project management capability for continuous improvement.
- Optimise resources to achieve specified outcomes, and promote manufacturing strategy and maintain commitment from multiple interdependent stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment of all projects, programmes or change activities within the delegated work packages.
- Balance demand and de‑conflict priorities to deliver a clear and concise message to all internal manufacturing and external stakeholders.
- Engage with the wider Manufacturing operations teams to ensure capital investment plans are available and generated to link in with site investment.
- Manage key stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and positive team spirit within the wider MBDA matrix organisation.
- Represent Manufacturing at internal site investment reviews and MBDA external stakeholders.
- Coordinate the delivery of the unique capabilities at the Henlow site, liaising with critical external entities.
- Adapt quickly to emerging challenges and scope‑change associated with new construction works.
- Challenge where appropriate to deliver the capability on time, on cost and on quality, leveraging technical expertise across diverse areas.
- Manage the budget for the delegated work package, covering the various site improvement plans.
Qualifications
- Programme management experience is essential, ideally in a complex and highly legislative environment.
- Strong programme and stakeholder relationship management skills.
- Problem‑solving ability and experience working with technical experts, building contractors and senior directors.
- Experience delivering projects against the RIBA standard and within the Manufacturing function.
- Ability to adapt quickly, challenge appropriately and manage budgets effectively.
- UK security clearance: British Citizen or Dual UK national with British citizenship, and willingness to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).
Salary and Benefits
Salary: Circa £70,000 depending on experience.
- Company bonus up to 27% of base salary.

Location
The role is based across our Henlow and Stevenage Manufacturing sites in the United Kingdom.
