As a Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence Engineer in the Image Processing UK department, you will develop algorithms for next‑generation complex weapon systems, working within an international team with links to MBDA sites in France and Germany. Your role will involve research, development, and evaluation of imaging‑based algorithms that provide situational awareness and guide weapons with maximum precision.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers from diverse subject areas in a friendly and motivated team.
- Develop and maintain complex algorithms for weapon systems, gaining deep knowledge of design and functionality.
- Work on cutting‑edge technological innovations and refine solutions through research and experimentation.
- Attend national and international workshops and conferences to stay current on industry trends.

Qualifications
- Preferably hold or be completing a PhD in a related field, or possess relevant post‑doctoral or industry experience.
- Degree with strong mathematical content (Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or similar).
- Keen curiosity about emerging technologies and their practical applications.
- Specific knowledge in one or more of the following: Image Processing Algorithms (segmentation, filtering, noise removal, compression, super‑resolution); Computer Vision Algorithms (tracking, optical flow, pose estimation); Deep Learning techniques (detection, classification, Siamese networks); Inverse problems / computational imaging (sparse coding, compressive sensing); Machine Learning (SVM, neural networks); Domain‑specific signal processing (spectral, RF, IR, SAR, STAP).
- Experience with Matlab/Simulink and Python, including PyTorch deep‑learning libraries.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary up to £62,000, depending on experience.
- Company bonus up to £2,500, linked to performance.
- Pension with up to 14 % total contribution (employer + employee).
