The wider WSE (Weapon System Equipment) team is responsible for managing groups of equipment and Weapon System sub‑systems from the bidding stage, into the concept & requirements generation phase, through their development programme, and on to production & delivery and final integration onto the platform or launcher. The WSE team provides technical and project management to ensure that these products & equipment are fit for purpose and delivered on time and to cost. Land Ceptor is an MBDA Ground Based Air Defence System which is now in service with UK and Polish Customers. The product is also in the middle of a live series‑production at the ILC facility in Bolton whilst also subject to new contract amendments and product development requests from both customers (UK and Polish). As a result, the Land Ceptor Physical Design team is exposed to all areas of the Product Lifecycle on a daily basis.
Core Responsibilities
- Define and manage the Land Ceptor Launcher Build Definitions in PLM (product Lifecyle Manager).
- Ensure that product definitions are released to support project timelines.
- Provide management of Change notices (change managements) and Problem reports to support key programme milestones through the supply chain.
- Support to Non conformance management process for both production and in service product.
- Support to the ongoing correct configuration of the Land Ceptor product as the complexity of the product/programmes evolves.
- Working with UK and Italian Configuration teams to ensure the new & live builds are being correctly configured in line with the BMS and company process.
- Responsibility for a piece or pieces of hardware, owning its requirement set, delivering support.
- Pushing future development and developing requirement sets in support of business or customer needs.
- Collaboratively work with MBDA IT and support the delivery of significant contractual deliveries.
- Work with manufacturing (Bolton) to understand build definitions and support production.
- Respond and resolve in‑service customer queries.
Qualifications & Experience
- Awareness of PLM for Design Definition and Configuration Management.
- Demonstrable experience of product delivery in challenging environments.
- A mix of experience in the design and support of large mechanical assemblies with integrated hydraulic and electrical installations.
- Strong Task Prioritisation and Communication skills.
- Experience of delivering product support both in person and remotely.
- Experience of leading/ contributing to product development.
- Knowledge of systems engineering principles, processes and practices.
- Appreciation of requirements engineering at System, Subsystem or Component level.
- Knowledge associated with the design and build of hardware.
- Experience of Non‑Conformance Management.
- Awareness of P6 as a Planning.
- Effective and concise reporting skills for clear communication of complex issues.

Salary: Circa £46,000 depending on experience.
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2‑3 days per week on‑site due to workload classification.
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.
