A Systems Engineering position is available supporting the sustainment and development of the Sea Ceptor Weapon System. This includes coordinating/conducting detailed technical studies, assessments and work packages associated with future Sea Ceptor development/evolution, as well as leading resolution of technical issues and managing system architecture definition. The successful candidate would also be expected to support the wider team involved in Trials data analysis, Combat System Integration, verification, safety, security and performance activities.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and conduct detailed technical studies and assessments on future Sea Ceptor development and evolution.
- Task Package management; Systems support to technical and combat systems integration queries across Sea Ceptor domestic and export programmes.
- Reviewing and analysing technical data in order to understand and document findings.
- Investigating defects, through analysis of data and understanding the system design in order to seek resolution.
- Technical resolution of in-service and/or qualification issues as they arise.
- Understanding the impact of proposed changes on the design and performing trade studies to ensure the continued effectiveness of Sea Ceptor.
- Technical support to Export New Business activity, across a broad range of System architecture topics.
- Support to Non-compliance management & impact assessment.
- Supporting the Trials team both on site at MBDA and at off-site locations.
- Technical resolution of internal sub-system queries through IQR forum.
- Technical input to assist identifying and defining requirements for internal sub-systems and external interfaces.
Qualifications
- Established/Proven experience of working within the Systems Engineering lifecycle including; Requirement elicitation, Identifying and managing key design drivers, Verification processes.
- Experience of systems integration (mechanical/electrical/software) and system interface definition, including definition of and/or working with Interface Control definition documents.
- Experience in defining System Architecture.
- Experience of working with internal and external customers.
- Experience of using RTC & DOORS.
- Experience in defect management and/or investigation.
- Experience in Non-Compliance process and management.
- Ability to work proactively and flexibly across a number of concurrent programmes.
- Ability to respond quickly when programme priorities change.
- An effective team player with good interpersonal and influencing skills, essential to working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and in building cohesion in the relationships between the Systems team and various interfacing teams.
Benefits & Remuneration
- Salary: Circa £57,000 depending on experience.
- Dynamic (hybrid) working: 3 days per week on-site due to workload classification.
- Security clearance required: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. All successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).
- Company bonus: Up to £2,500 (based on company performance and will vary year to year).
- Pension: maximum total (employer and employee) contribution of up to 14%.
