This is an excellent opportunity to join the UK Manufacturing team at Bolton in support of multi‑project customer deliveries in the area of NPI Development and production. An experienced Manufacturing Planning and Control Manager is required at the MBDA UK site in Bolton. The MP&C Manager reports directly to the Head of Operations and leads the Manufacturing Planning and Control team, ensuring the team is capable and efficient in all planning activities to deliver the Manufacturing Planning Schedule (MPS) on time, cost and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and support to the MP&C team.
  • Develop the MPS in line with the agreed production schedule.
  • Manage the MPS in SAP to enable production and material orders.
  • Collaborate with supply‑chain manufacturing teams to ensure end‑to‑end planning and validation of material supply plans.
  • Contribute to the creation and delivery of the manufacturing supply‑chain strategy and end‑to‑end planning cycle.
  • Act as a technical and cultural lead for MP&C, focusing on process improvement and performance of the manufacturing supply chain.
  • Champion the development of new tools, processes, skills and KPIs for the MP&C function.
  • Provide inputs to ensure effective delivery of the S&OP process.
  • Develop and support SAP functionality to ensure MRP integrity and automate performance reporting from SAP data.
  • Own manufacturing planning processes and system improvements, ensuring MRP operating principles and rules are adhered to.
  • Work with system analysts and SMEs to develop new system reports and processes that simplify and enhance business planning.
  • Support Manufacturing Operations teams to ensure accurate customer commitments, on‑time delivery and consistent end‑to‑end planning.

Qualifications

  • Degree level education or equivalent.
  • Supply Chain Management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • APICS supply chain certification desirable but not essential.
  • Experience using SAP or an equivalent MRP system is essential.
  • Ability to make decisions and lead a team to achieve organisational goals.
  • Previous experience managing a team.
  • Ability to influence and drive change.
