This opportunity is for an Electrical Fitter to join the Manufacturing team supporting the assembly and certification of a variety of electrical hardware builds, ranging from small fixtures through to complex missile systems, during all phases of the product lifecycle. The role provides operations support to ensure programme targets are met to agreed time, cost and quality requirements.
Role
- Ensure completed hardware builds are manufactured in accordance with drawing requirements and specifications.
- Maintain a safe working environment in line with 5S policies.
- Always aim to deliver in line with all time, cost and quality requirements.
- Ensure assembly unit production costs are met.
- Maintain the highest level of workmanship standards and product quality.
- Ensure the completion of all manufacturing documentation.
- Work closely with fellow operators, engineering and quality to overcome any technical challenges and offer feedback for continuous improvement activities.
- Work with a large team of multi-disciplined operators in a fast-paced but friendly and inclusive manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
- Electrical Engineering / Manufacturing Apprenticeship (Advanced Level or L3 Standard) or Level 3 academic qualification (ONC, Diploma, etc.).
- Level 3 vocational qualification (NVQ) – not required if an apprenticeship standard is achieved.
- Practice in reading and understanding assembly drawings and planning instructions.
- Fully conversant with all manufacturing equipment, tools and measuring instruments.
- Use initiative and work independently without close supervision.
- Go the extra mile to get work finished to a high standard.
- Show flexibility and adaptability.
