An exciting opportunity to join the UK Sales Finance team at MBDA and support a rapidly growing UK export portfolio & pipeline.
Salary: up to Β£70,000 depending on experience
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site on average
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:
The Sales Finance Manager UK (SFM) will support MBDA UK business winning activity in the export domain by operating as a Sales Finance (SF) expert within bid teams. The SFM will provide expert advice both internally and externally throughout the bid phases and will support contract negotiation with export customers whilst ensuring the timely and proper establishment of financial instruments and related risk management instruments. The role reports into the Head of UK Sales Finance.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Representing SF as a key member of the bid team on selected MBDA UK export bids/campaigns including negotiating directly with overseas customers and finding financing solutions for customers whilst ensuring that agreed positions remain inside the Company mandate.
- Preparing SF input and direction into export bids, including calculating the SF cost-base, directing SF positions on Ts & Cs (clauses, annexes, models, templates) and instruments (Buyer Credit, Letter of Credit (L/Cs), Guarantees, other finance related matters).
- Managing the set-up of contract financing where a Customer elects to use a Buyer Credit scheme.
- Liaising with Sales Finance Officer(s) during contract execution to ensure all SF activities align with progress of contract.
- Engaging with a range of external partners, including Banks, Insurers and the UK Export Credit Agency (UK Export Finance), including negotiating with these partners on respective instruments.
- Supporting the contract amendments process with Sales & Business Development (SBD) & Export Contract Management (ECM) to ensure the continuous operability of financial instruments, minimization of financial risk/exposure and validity of SF positions as the contract evolves.
- Educating internal stakeholders on SF instruments and topics.
- Where required, deputising for Head of UK Sales Finance and/or supporting the wider MBDA Group SF team.
