Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) is ubiquitous in all modern-day military conflicts. MBDA is developing products that will enable the UK Services (and the UK’s allies) to continue to obtain battlefield information superiority and robust situational awareness, whilst also being able to sufficiently disrupt / deny / degrade enemy operations. The EW domain is a critical enabler in the quest to protect the UK’s people, territories, values and interests; apply now to become part of the team that is striving to deliver this capability to the front line.
Salary: Up to £58k (dependent on experience) + bonus + benefits
Location: Stevenage or Bristol (We may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)
Dynamic (Hybrid) Working Pattern: We trust our people to agree, within their teams, where and when they can be most effective. Our Dynamic Working policy allows individuals flexibility around the hours they work and where they work. Typically for this role, due to the nature of the work, you will need to work a minimum of 3 days per week on-site.
Security Clearance: MBDA UK requires all employees to achieve the required medical and national security clearance for their role. Due to the nature of our business, this particular vacancy requires the applicant to be a British Citizen, or a Dual UK national with British citizenship, and capable of achieving a DV clearance level (which is managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team).

The Opportunity:
At MBDA, we are growing our EW capabilities. The EW Group supports activities on relevant weapon system and missile programmes, with specific responsibilities for the weapon system design and verification, system and equipment integration, RF system design, threat analysis, and modelling & simulation activities associated with EW capability and performance.
We are recruiting an EW and Threat System Modelling Engineer to enhance our capability in modelling EW Weapon Systems. You’ll be joining an exciting, expanding, and rapidly evolving area within MBDA, with the opportunity to work on new and innovative products. The team are friendly, supportive with a wealth of experience with in EW and where you will be able to increase your knowledge and understanding of EW Systems.
What we’re looking for from you:

- A learning attitude.
- Strong problem solving skills & ability to identify and gather information required to solve complex problems.
- A good understanding of simulation environments (e.g. MATLAB and Simulink, or similar).
- Ability to visualise and analyse complex systems.
- Awareness of systems engineering principles.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience interfacing with internal and external subject matter experts.
It is also desirable if you have:
- Knowledge of RF, Communications and RADAR systems.
- Knowledge of Integrated Air Defence Systems (IADS).
- Threat analysis experience.
- Knowledge of EW techniques and tactics.
- Experience working with DSTL, ASWC, and/or DI.
