An opportunity has arisen to join an enthusiastic, driven and dynamic team, working across international boundaries who are focussed on delivering Mission Planning products for key domestic and export customers.

Dynamic (hybrid) working: Usually a minimum of 3 days per week on site.

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. After offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

Opportunity:

Join a team that works across all stages of the development life cycle, from initial concepting through to in‑service support and Customer training. The breadth of work within the Mission Planning Systems Team affords plenty of opportunities for you to showcase your existing skills and experience as well as providing plenty of opportunities for technical and personal growth. As we develop products for delivery to end users you will also be hands‑on with actual mission planning equipment developed for weapons such as Storm Shadow, Spear and others currently in development and with this comes engagement with customers and end users as well as working with many other parts of MBDA.

Responsibilities:

You will be conducting systems design activities for various mission planning products. You will provide key inputs to requirements capture, design freezes, system integration and testing through to full product verification and certification. You will work closely with UK and French Systems and Software teams, as well as other parties to enable robust design and system validation. You will be hands‑on with real, operational equipment and have the opportunity to engage with Customers and End‑Users.

What we're looking for from you:

  • Understanding of System Engineering Process is essential with recent experience in a systems engineering role ideally across the full lifecycle.
  • Experience in tools for Requirements Capture and Control (e.g. DOORS) and Configuration Management essential.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively in a collaborative environment spanning a number of teams and locations is essential.
  • Experience of technical problem solving and a strong ability to think analytically.
  • General understanding of mission planning principles would be beneficial.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent.
