Based in the heart of Truro, our friendly and growing consultancy delivers civil and structural engineering solutions for a wide range of residential, commercial, healthcare, education, leisure and infrastructure projects.

We're looking for an enthusiastic Structural Engineer, from graduate level through to around two or three years' experience, to join our expanding team.

Whether you're just starting your career or already have some consultancy experience, we'll provide the mentoring, responsibility and support needed to help you become an outstanding engineer.

The Role

You'll become part of our structural engineering team, working on projects across Cornwall and the South West.

Typical projects include

  • Commercial buildings
  • Schools and education facilities
  • Heritage and listed buildings
  • Community and leisure projects

Your responsibilities will include

  • Structural design using steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber.
  • Producing structural calculations and technical reports.
  • Preparing engineering drawings using Revit and Auto CAD.
  • Attending client meetings and site visits.
  • Undertaking structural inspections and surveys.
  • Liaising with architects, contractors and other consultants.
  • Assisting with Building Regulations and construction information.

As your experience grows, so will your responsibility and involvement in managing projects.

  • Who We're Looking For
  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng or MEng).
  • Graduate to approximately three years' relevant experience.
  • Good understanding of structural engineering principles.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Full UK driving licence or working towards obtaining one.
  • Consultancy experience.
  • TEDDS.
  • Autodesk Revit.
  • Auto CAD.
  • Progress towards ICE or IStruct E membership.
