About The Role

What You\’ll Do

This role is all about supporting our HR team and employees with a variety of tasks. You\’ll be involved in:

  • Maintaining and updating employee records on the HR system in line with GDPR compliance, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for HR-related queries from staff and managers, providing helpful and friendly support, and escalating complex employee relations matters when necessary.
  • Assisting with onboarding and offboarding processes, helping new team members get set up for success and managing departures smoothly.
  • Supporting payroll by providing accurate data, such as absences, details for new starters, and information for leavers.
  • Assisting in maintaining HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are up-to-date and accessible, and communicating these effectively to staff.
  • Providing crucial administrative support for employee relations matters, including scheduling and providing comprehensive support for disciplinary, grievance, and performance meetings, ensuring all documentation is accurate and confidential.
  • Undertaking general administrative duties such as scanning, filing and managing HR correspondence to keep things running smoothly.

Requirements

What We\’re Looking For

  • A common-sense approach: You\’re a logical thinker who can figure things out and solve problems effectively, particularly when navigating sensitive employee situations.
  • Ideally some HR experience: While not essential, a foundational understanding or experience in Human Resources or Employee Relations would be a strong advantage.
  • Excellent organisational skills: You can manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and pay close attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills: You\’re comfortable interacting with people at all levels, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to communicate empathetically and clearly, even in challenging conversations.
  • Proactive and eager to learn: You\’re not afraid to ask questions, take initiative, and grow your skills, especially in the area of employee relations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office: You\’re comfortable using Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • A positive attitude: You bring energy and enthusiasm to your work every day.
  • Exceptional discretion and confidentiality: You understand the critical importance of handling sensitive employee and HR information with the utmost care and professionalism, particularly in ER cases.
