Job Description
Our client, an international, highly acquisitive logistics / retail business based in Accrington (hybrid working) is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable & Billing Manager to join their team to look after a growing entity within the group and develop/manage transactional members of the function.
You’ll be reporting into an experienced Financial Controller who is looking for their successor in the near future. This position would suit a Transactional Manager or someone who has a good level of knowledge within purchase ledger / accounts receivable / billing who wants to assume more responsibility as a ‘Transactional Manager’.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and management to a small team in Accounts Payable and Billing, providing support and cover when needed.
- Manage weekly billing ensuring all carrier invoices have been billed out and preparing weekly analysis for the Financial Controller.
- Responsible for the purchase ledger, including managing purchase ledger staff, invoice approvals and preparing payment runs.
- Build relationships with new and existing suppliers to improve cash-flow.
Key requirements:
- Experience of managing and developing a small team.
- Good experience with all Microsoft packages particularly Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build relationships with external stakeholders.
- Have a keen interest in process improvement and developing your transactional function.
