A highly regarded law firm based in Stockport is looking to welcome a Personal Injury (PI) Paralegal to its established team, who can demonstrate initiative, reliability, and the ability to manage a busy and varied workload. This is a fantastic opportunity, with genuine progression available for the right candidate. You will be joining a supportive and professional Personal Injury team across a broad range of PI matters, including RTA, EL, OL, PL, CICA, and MOJ Portal work. JOB DESCRIPTION:
- To assist in the provision of legal advice within his/her area of expertise to clients, resulting in satisfactory, profitable outcomes.
- The candidate should be able to show efficiency in dealing with RTA/EL/OL/PL/CICA cases.
- Case load in the region of 80 files.
- Handling RTA/PI files from inception to completion.
- Cases will have a value of less than £25,000 and will either be cases that are proceeding through the MOJ Portal or that have dropped out of the MOJ Portal.
- There will be a very small number of OIC cases and some infant cases.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
- Meet agreed personal targets.
- Consistently provide high-quality service to clients.
- Comfortable with litigated and pre-litigated work.
- Keep up to date with new legislation.
- Record agreed chargeable hours on a daily basis.
- Assist other fee earners as appropriate.
- Strong file management discipline (chargeable hours, targets, deadlines).
- Client-facing confidence.
- Someone stable who can step in and run immediately.
- Can spot issues, progress files, and actually think like a fee earner.
- Hybrid working is available - 3 days in the office, 2 days WFH.
Please note that this role would not be suitable for candidates who are currently dealing with volume Official Injury Claim (OIC) or Small Claims Track work. There will be genuine prospects of career development for the right candidate.
