Mazco Recruitment is working with a well-established manufacturing business that is looking to recruit a skilled Assembly Technician to join their production team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on mechanical or electrical assembly experience who takes pride in quality and precision.
The Role
As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assembling mechanical and/or electrical components in line with engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards. You’ll play a key role in ensuring products are built efficiently, safely, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical and/or electrical assembly of components, sub-assemblies, and finished products
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and build documentation
- Using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment
- Carrying out basic functional testing of assemblies
- Ensuring high standards of quality, accuracy, and workmanship
- Overseeing rumbling, cleaning, and deburring of components when required
- Completing production and traceability documentation
- Adhering to health & safety procedures, 5S, and ISO9001 standards
- Supporting continuous improvement and providing feedback to engineering
- Working closely with supervisors, engineers, and other technicians
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on assembly experience
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and work instructions
- Confident using workshop tools (spanners, torque tools, drills, callipers, micrometres)
- High attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
- Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines
- Basic computer literacy
- Previous assembly or production experience (minimum 1 year preferred)
Desirable
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Engineering or Manufacturing
- Mechanical or electrical apprenticeship
- Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, Kanban)
- Electrical assembly or wiring experience
