Mazco Recruitment are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established precision engineering company for an experienced CNC Milling Programmer / Setter / Operator to join their skilled machining team on a permanent day shift basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly capable machinist with strong experience programming, setting, and operating 3 & 4 Axis CNC vertical milling machines using Heidenhain controls. The role involves machining complex, high-precision components from a variety of challenging materials including Inconel, Nitronic, stainless steels, and other high-specification alloys.
The Role
You will be responsible for programming at the machine, setting up jobs, proving out programs, and producing precision-machined components to extremely tight tolerances and high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Program new CNC milling jobs directly at the machine using Heidenhain controls
- Set and operate 3 & 4 Axis vertical milling machines
- Load, edit, prove, and optimise CNC programs
- Set fixtures, vices, tooling, and work offsets accurately
- Machine precision components from exotic and difficult-to-machine materials
- Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Select suitable tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining strategies
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a CNC Milling Programmer / Setter / Operator
- Strong knowledge of Heidenhain CNC controls
- Experience with vertical milling machinery
- Ability to program directly at the machine
- Experience machining exotic materials such as Inconel or Nitronic
- Strong understanding of tooling selection and machining practices
Desirable Experience
- One-off, prototype, or small batch machining experience
- Background in aerospace, motorsport, medical, oil & gas, or other high-integrity sectors
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices
