Mazco Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering and manufacturing company in Droitwich for an experienced Electrical Panel Builder / Wireman. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled electrical and mechanical engineer to join a growing business that designs and manufactures specialist equipment for a range of industrial sectors.
The Role
As an Electrical Panel Builder / Wireman, you will be responsible for building, wiring, testing, and assembling electrical control panels and associated equipment. The role will also involve mechanical fitting and assembly work, making it ideal for candidates with a strong all-round engineering background. Working from engineering drawings and wiring schematics, you will play a key role in ensuring products are manufactured to the highest standards of quality and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and wire electrical control panels from engineering drawings and schematics.
- Install electrical components including relays, contactors, PLCs, drives, switches, and control devices.
- Carry out point-to-point wiring, cable routing, and panel modifications.
- Perform mechanical assembly and fitting of equipment and machinery.
- Conduct electrical testing and fault-finding activities.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions.
- Ensure all work is completed to company quality and safety standards.
- Support production and engineering teams with assembly and installation requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organised working environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Electrical Panel Builder, Wireman, Electrical Fitter, Control Panel Technician, or similar role.
- Strong electrical assembly and wiring experience.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
- Mechanical fitting and assembly experience.
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working within a manufacturing, automation, machinery, or engineering environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Electrical qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential for experienced candidates.
