About the Financial Planning team
The role of a financial planner is to ensure clients\\\’ financial affairs are structured in the most optimal way. We build a financial strategy to meet a client\\\’s long-term objectives, starting by finding out what clients want to achieve and then formulating a plan to help them get there. This may include income structuring, capital accumulation strategies, retirement planning, investment solutions, and tax optimisation. We create long-term, deep client relationships, often working with clients and their families over decades—from building wealth to retirement and beyond, maximising their legacy.

About the role
As a graduate trainee you will follow a four-year training contract. During the first two years you will:
- Study and complete core financial planning qualifications (Certificate in Insurance (CII) Diploma in Financial Planning) while supporting client service in a regional office
- Learn the financial planning process and how it applies to client circumstances
- Obtain relevant information from providers to understand a client\\\’s affairs
- Learn about possible solutions to assist clients
- Learn to use client management software and systems to prepare and keep records of client advice
- Learn about consumer duty responsibilities, compliance, and regulatory aspects of the profession
- Research and write reports with your own solutions and ideas to meet client circumstances
- Provide ongoing assistance to the financial planner or regional teams with delivery of client service
In the final two years you will study and complete advanced financial planning qualifications to become a chartered financial planner, while developing skills to operate as a Forvis Mazars financial planner. You will take responsibility for creating and presenting client solutions, meet deadlines, and provide high-quality client service in a compliant manner. You will begin your business development plan to grow your footprint in your region. There is a final internal assessment at the end of year 4 required to meet regulatory Training and Competence Scheme requirements to move into the role as a Financial Planner.
