Job Purpose

As a Mergers & Acquisitions Assistant Manager, you will take responsibility for further developing Forvis Mazars\' M&A department through the delivery of a high-quality service across a range of clients, including advising on disposals, acquisitions, fundraisings and management buyouts.

In the main, the work will focus on privately owned businesses in the mid-market with an enterprise value up to £100m.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Researching and preparing for new deal opportunities and pitches.
  • Preparing transaction documentation – business plans, information memoranda and financial forecasts.
  • Researching and approaching potential buyers / sellers for clients.
  • Project managing aspects of larger transactions and project managing, in full, smaller ones.
  • Supporting the team in marketing activity as well as building your own market profile.
  • Build strong working relationships with the client, ensuring any problems or requests are dealt with promptly.
  • Show vision and a strategic perspective and focus on the achievement of longer-term goals.
  • Maintaining control and stability under pressure whilst recognising the deadline or urgency to be dealt with.
  • Making confident and clear presentations of service features and benefits to clients.
  • Ensuring that the services provided are genuinely appropriate for the client.
  • Identifying, analysing and supporting in pursuing opportunities and prospects for new work.
  • Assessing and producing high quality work in line with the Firm\'s policy and processes, meeting relevant regulatory requirements.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Qualified to ACA level (or equivalent).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop strong client relationships.
  • Financial modelling skills.
  • Desire to help grow and develop the department.
  • Ability to develop new initiatives and methodologies.
  • Ability to identify issues through sound analysis and application of commercial acumen in all situations.
