About The Mid-Markets Team: Our Mid-Markets team supports privately owned businesses, with a client base in the UK of over 13,000 businesses. You will be part of a dynamic team serving a range of companies from startups to international groups.

Role overview

As an apprentice on a four-year training contract, you will progress through two early years focused on foundational auditing skills and two later years handling more complex engagements. You will join as a permanent employee after completing the programme.

Responsibilities — Years 1 and 2

• Master the art of auditing: prepare audit documentation using current software and methodologies.
• Financial statements: understand balance sheets, income statements, and cash flows.
• Work with clients: engage with diverse companies to understand operations and challenges.
• Relationship building: develop professional relationships with clients and internal teams.

Responsibilities — Years 3 and 4

• Take on increasingly complex audit work, including revenue recognition, valuation, and risk assessments.
• Take ownership of audit engagements and lead delivery; mentor junior team members.
• Continue as a permanent employee, with the programme representing the beginning of your career at Forvis Mazars.
