Overview
Audit – Public Sector School Leaver Apprentice – Newcastle – start date 1 September 2026. Role with Forvis Mazars (Mazars UK LLP – formerly CompetitionRx Ltd).
Responsibilities
- Years 1 and 2: Master the art of auditing by learning to prepare meticulous audit documents using the latest software and methodologies.
- Develop an understanding of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flows.
- Work side by side with clients, gaining insights into their operations, challenges, and opportunities.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders both within clients and across internal teams and service lines.
- Years 3 and 4: Progress to increasingly complex audit work (e.g., revenue recognition, valuation, risk assessments) and take ownership of audit engagements as a lead on delivery.
- Mentor new and more junior team members and support their development.
- Join as a permanent employee; the four-year training contract is the start of a longer career at Forvis Mazars.

- On track to or have achieved A-levels, BTEC or equivalent qualifications; strong academic performance considered alongside other experiences.
- Curious and eager to learn; able to think critically and solve problems.
- Commitment to self-development, ownership of duties, and willingness to deliver on promises.
- Ability to work under pressure with a positive, can-do attitude; excellent time management.
- Enjoy engaging with new people, with respect for diversity and integrity.
