Are you looking to develop your career in Health & Safety within the construction industry? We are working with a construction business looking to recruit a Health & Safety Advisor to support health and safety standards across its construction sites and office operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an introductory Health & Safety qualification, current NEBOSH/IOSH studies or practical construction experience who is keen to build their knowledge and progress their career. Working alongside an experienced Health & Safety Manager, you will receive guidance, training and ongoing support while taking responsibility for routine site inspections and helping ensure safe working practices are maintained. For the right person, there is a genuine opportunity to develop into a full Health & Safety Advisor role as your experience and competence grow.
Your responsibilities will include:
Carrying out routine health and safety inspections across allocated construction sites.
Identifying potential hazards and checking safe working practices, including PPE, access routes, welfare facilities, work at height and plant movements.
Checking risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) and helping ensure site teams follow agreed procedures.
Preparing inspection reports, recording findings and monitoring corrective actions.
Assisting with health and safety documentation, construction phase plans, site rules and induction materials.
Supporting site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Assisting with accident, incident and near-miss reporting and investigations.
Maintaining accurate records, training registers and health and safety documentation.
Working with Site Managers and supervisors to promote a positive health and safety culture.
Escalating significant hazards and concerns to the Health & Safety Manager.
We are keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate a genuine interest in construction health and safety and a willingness to learn.
You may already have experience in a junior H&S position, or you could be working in construction and looking to move into a dedicated health and safety role.
Ideally, you will have:
A relevant introductory Health & Safety qualification, be studying towards a recognised qualification, or have suitable practical experience.
