The Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) is seeking a motivated and politically aware Policy Support and Engagement Officer to support the Victims' Commissioner for London. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to improving outcomes for victims of crime by supporting policy development, research, communications and stakeholder engagement. You will help ensure victims' voices are reflected in decision-making across London's criminal justice system, working on key areas including Violence Against Women and Girls, Modern Slavery and access to justice.
In this varied role, you will undertake policy research, monitor emerging issues, analyse reports and prepare briefings to support the Victims' Commissioner and Policy Advisors. You will support press, communications and social media activity, draft reports, correspondence, newsletters and presentations, and coordinate engagement activities including stakeholder meetings, consultation events and focus groups. You will build effective relationships with a wide range of partners, including the Mayor's Office, GLA, Metropolitan Police Service, justice agencies, voluntary sector organisations and victims of crime.
We are looking for someone with strong research, writing and organisational skills, who can manage competing priorities and communicate confidently with a diverse range of stakeholders. You will have experience of producing high-quality written materials, supporting projects or policy work, and developing effective partnerships. The successful candidates will be expected to undergo the necessary security checks. Applicants must possess the legal right to work in the UK and have resided in the UK continuously for at least the last three years.

Where are we based?
We operate a hybrid working model with office hubs currently at Union Street (near London Bridge) and Newlands Park (postcode SE26). On average, staff will work 2 days a week from an Office Hub, which may differ depending on the role requirements.
